EMP Feedback Form

This dashboard will provide emergency professionals with a vast array of data that they can use to serve the folks living in their communities. To adequately leverage this dashboard, a coalition from across the state of Pennsylvania will need to convene to discuss the allocation of funds and human resources.

The first visualization is a donut graph that provides a breakdown of indirect injuries that have occurred over the years based on the weather emergency type. The second graph shows a breakdown of all direct injuries based on emergency type. One thing to consider going forward is the collection of injury type that occurred with each incident. This new data, coupled with the existing data, will allow emergency professionals to gain a deeper understanding of how they can best serve their assigned communities.

The third visualization is a time series graph that indicates the number of specific events that occurred each month during 2015 and 2016. Using this data, EMPs can allocate funds and resources based on particular needs. Dashboard users can also drill down to specific events by clicking on the graph. This functionality is built into the previous graphs as well, but it is more useful when exploring the third visualization.

The fourth and final visualization is a geographic heat map that highlights the various weather occurrences based on magnitude. The larger the circle on the graph, the greater the occurrence. Users can drill down by clicking on specific variables. Additional information can be viewed by hovering the mouse cursor over the variable marker on the graph.
